CEI LOGO Color 192x337Since 1989 Convenience Electronics Inc. (CEI) has been manufacturing high quality custom cables for the medical, industrial, telecom, and security industry.  We specialize in lower volumes and quick turnaround, while producing a high quality product.

CEI is a small, fast-growing, minority-owned manufacturing company located on Madison’s southeast side, .3 miles from a Madison Metro bus stop.  CEI is actively seeking full and part time Manufacturing Assemblers.  The hours for these positions are 5 a.m. through 3 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays.  Our bright, air-conditioned facility offers a safe, clean work environment.

The Manufacturing Assembler position assembles cables, wires, and harnesses.  Along with electronic, mechanical, or electro-mechanical assemblies as required, reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor and working with Manufacturing Leads. The Manufacturing Assembler position carries out the following duties:

  • * Read/interpret drawings (willing to train incumbent through our QAI-013 Training program)
  • * Understand and follow work instructions according to QAI-014 work instructions
  • * Produce electronic products in compliance with job specifications and IPC-A620 standards
  • * Measure actual work time against the standard labor time set for each assembly being worked on
  • * Participate in LEAN manufacturing projects
  • * Introduction to cellular manufacturing
  • * Team work development skills you can improve your lifestyle
  • * Being accurate and willingness to learn
  • * Perform other duties as assigned by Manufacturing Supervisor or Manager



    Qualified applicants will have the following preferred qualifications:
  • * Education:  high school diploma or GED
  • * If you have a good work ethic, a can-do attitude, punctual, sense of responsibility, and willing to learn a career in electronic assembly, which * includes soldering, crimping, wire stripping, lean, and team building
  • * Self-starting, self-organizing, works well with others, continually improves, and accurate

The incumbent will be expected to attain the following skills after hire:

  • * Full knowledge of CEI?s safety policy and procedures
  • * Understanding of CEI?s manufacturing processes
  • * Become a Certified IPC 620 specialist’s
  • * Meet attendance / tardiness requirements set up in company policy
  • * Participate and execute processes to CEI Quality Manual


    Full time works the regular scheduled 40 hours per week, anything less is part time.


    CEI is a fast-growing company with an established quarterly incentive plan offering advancement opportunities.  Insurance benefits offered include medical, dental, vision, short- and long-term disability, and term-life.  Starting hourly wage ranges between $11 to $13 per hour based on experience.  Compensation also includes a quarterly incentive plan and a Simple IRA retirement plan once eligibility requirements are met.
